Pol Roger is also the official purveyor of wine to Queen Elizabeth II. It was manufactured by Argit of France, underneath written “Argit France” with 2 stamps. The bucket is about 8 inches tall (20,32 cm) Top diameter of 7 1/2 inches (19.05 cm). It has “Pol Roger” in raised letters on a textured rectangle surrounded by a rope shaped border on two sides. Above and below those rectangles, they are 5 etched lines, creating a wonderful “Art Deco” effect. On each side is a ring handle decorated with a bunch of grapes. They are minor dents and signs of usage as can be expected, but this mid-century pail remains intact, solid and watertight with an authentic aged appeal. This Champagne Cooler can still be used as a receptacle for your bubbly delights, or could be re-purposed as an esquisite planter or vase or even used to hold kitchen utensils.
