Vintage Coleman Steel Belted 40 qt green and white hard-sided cooler / ice chest, made by The Coleman Co. In Wichita, Kansas, U. This cooler has a painted steel outer body with a plastic lower base, plastic interior liner, side handles, front latch, drain plug, and hinged lid with raised Coleman logo inside. The molded date code reads 3 85, indicating likely March 1985 production. This is a true 1980s Coleman Steel Belted cooler with the classic green and white color combination. Great for vintage camping gear collectors, tailgating, picnics, cabin use, display, or continued practical use. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description. Very good used vintage condition with light normal wear from age and use. Exterior painted steel body has some surface scratches, scuffs, small marks, and light cosmetic wear, but overall presents very well for its age. The plastic base, interior liner, handles, and lid components are in great condition with no cracks and no noticeable yellowing. Hardware shows light oxidation/tarnish on some screws and metal latch components. Hinges, side handles, latch, and drain plug are present. Cooler has not been leak-tested. Up for grabs is one very clean and nice condition for its age vintage Coleman blue steel belted cooler. Very minimal outside use clearly. Plastic is all in pristine condition, there are a few very mild topical scratches in the paint and a couple of things as shown in last pictures above. Very very very light topical oxidation on the handle and other metal parts but nothing nasty.
