This is a very nice vintage therm a chest cooler with the very hard to find bottom holding plate, so you can attach to anything you wish. The color is just streaking red on black. It was a few minor dings and imperfections.

VINTAGE 1950s Knapp MONARCH THERM-A-CHEST METAL & CHROME HANDLE PICNIC COOLER. Shows some wear and tear consistent with age. The original brand label has long since worn off. Made in USA by Knapp Monarch company. Metal in good condition with few dings. Could use a good scrub. See photos for additional details and condition. Louis, USA , near mint condition with original box. Vintage Knapp monarch company therm-a-chest 49-555-B with original box bottle opener and tray…… Original box is in really nice shape for its age. Some water marks on the top & 1 side & some writing….. Cooler has a few minor marks/scratches Here & there as mentioned above. It appears to not be used much if at all…… Owner says she doesn’t recall ever using it. Just stayed in the box stored on a shelf in the basement for many many years. Measures approximately 18″ long x 9 1/2″ front to back x 14″ tall Cooler x 16″ tall with handle latched up….. If it weren’t for the few minor scratches this could pass for new! We did more pics of the cooler than the box figuring the value is more in the contents although having the original box increases its value!
