50’s Red Pleasure Chest Metal Cooler with Bottle Opener & Drain Vintage Antique

This is a vintage Pleasure Chest Cooler / ice chest. These may have been somehow related to, or are spin-offs from the Coca Cola Coolers from the late 40’s early 50’s. This pleasure Chest cooler is 15″ wide X 12″ deep X 14 tall. The carrying handle locks the lid in place. It also has a bottle opener on the side. There are some minor signs of use but makes for a great patina look. The cooler has also been filled with water and the drain seals great and drains water out when you twist off the cap! A nice early Pleasure Chest ice chest. In overall fair to good used condition with some finish wear and loss. Some small areas of oxidation in places. The rubber on the lid is stiff, but not cracking. Measures roughly 14 by 11-1/2″ and 13″ tall not including the lid. Lock handle can be removed and has a side bottle opener. Shelf B2/011922 – CO. Vintage VERY RARE LARGE 1950s Original PLEASURE CHEST MASTER. Metal/Steel Soda Cooler Ice Box With Bottle Opener. Metal screw cap for draining on the chain. Bottle opener on the side. Original red paint and logo is in pretty good shape. There are paint flecks and natural patina. One original owner a sweet Italian family who had this in their pool house for over 70 years. Full steel galvanized steel lined. This cooler is very heavy, has double latch down clamping latches. Measures approximately 18″ by 18″ by 13. Very good condition with decades of patina, light denting on the top which could have been used as a seat. Wonderful piece of mid century soda history.
