Original Vintage Mid Century Metal Miller High Life Beer Picnic Cooler
This is an original vintage (mid 20th century) Miller High Life picnic size beer cooler with the Miler High Life logo and the slogan “The Champagne of Bottle Beer” on both sides. The cooler is in good condition but has some chips in the paint and some spotty surface rust with heavier rust on the bottom and a few tiny rust holes. One side edge of the cooler has some shallow dings in it and one ding has some chipped paint and a tiny rust hole in the center. The metal screw-on plug is missing so it would probably leak. The cooler is otherwise a fully functional sturdy, solid piece. The lid latches as it should, there are no holes inside, the hinges are intact and functional, and there is a small bottle opener on one side of the handle. Outer dimensions of the cooler, not including the handle are about 19″ L x 10″ W x 12 H. This is an excellent original 1950’s Schlitz picnic size beer cooler with the Schlitz logo and the slogan “The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous” on both sides. The handle, lid, plug, and food tray are all intact and functional. The only thing that is missing is the small chain that was once attached to the plug. The handle latches the lid shut tightly, and the food tray sets in place under the lid. There are a couple shallow dents in the cooler (one on the front and one on the back near the top) that are not very noticeable. The paint on the cooler is glossy and looks very good with some minor scuffs and scratches on all sides. There is very little rust on the cooler and absolutely no rust holes anywhere. Outer dimensions of the cooler, not including the handle are 19″ L x 10″ W x 12 H. Where can you find a mid century cooler like this? If you’re going for that mid century look, here it is. Formica top, steel handles with that light pastel brown color gives that Mod appeal. The handles can also act as a base and you can let it stand upright as shown on picture #4. (Coleman has this kind of version with some container inside that stands upright). There are some scuffs as shown on pictures, some dents, discoloration of interior base and a puncture on inside top cover.
