JAX Beer-1950’s Metal Ice Chest/Cooler. The Cooler measures; 22″W x 13″T x 13″D (Outer), Interior measures; 20″W x 10″T x 11″D. The Colors & Graphics are VIBRANT , the’Lid’ of the Cooler is in Great Condition, with No Major Denting , it has some rust around Handles &’Clamps’, however, there is NO Rust to the Cooler (Inside, or Outside). There are a few dents/dings, and scratches on the Metal Cooler, however, you can See the LIFE it has had. Every Dent tells another Story of the Wonderful’History’ of this Piece. Has been Well Loved. Missing the Inner Tray, and Rubber Seal around Lid. Still a Beautiful Piece for any Collector. JAX Beer Metal Cooler. Is from the Historic Kleindienst. Has not seen the Light of Day in 30+ Years, and Survived Hurricane Katrina. A Quick History of Jackson Brewing Company of New Orleans, LA. 1890 Jackson Brewing Company is formed by a group of local New Orleans business men. The company sells Jackson Bohemian Brew. 1919 On November 23. The name Jax was used for the first time. 1920 to 1933 – During prohibition the brewery continued to operate by producing soft drinks such as root beer and grape nehi and also produced a near beer with the legal alcohol content of one-half of one percent. 1933 – Prohibition ends on April 13. 1958 Over one million barrels of Jax Beer is produced which elevates Jackson Brewing Company to the position of seventh largest single location brewery operation in the US. 1972 The Fabachers sell the brewery to Meister Brau Inc.
