Hi, thanks for looking. This is a very rare, life size sculpture of a penguin that functions as a wine / liquor cooler or covered champagne bucket holder. This is a slightly vintage piece handmade in Italy by Franco Lapini. Franco is world famous for his high end luxury goods and one can visit his website by doing a search under his full name. This cooler has a hinged neck and the head flips back to allow for access to a opening where one can put in a full size bottle of your favorite beverage. This can also be used as an ice bucket as there is a plastic liner on the inside of this container. This is in very good condition, as a vintage piece there is a little wear which is normal and to be expected. The head flips back easily and there is a small gap, where the neck connects to the body and it is shown in the photo. If something heavy was to be put inside the head area that might close the gap but it has never bothered us. This is a VERY FUN and cute display piece as well and from a pet and smoke free home. Lapini does make one of kind pieces and special order pieces. He also retires designs as well. So this is Rare and perhaps a ONE of a KIND, but certainly if others of these exist, they do not come on the market very often, if ever.
