Vintage: PALs Pal Ade Metal Cooler 1940s–1960s? Recenlty found this at an “Estate” sale. It is pretty Rare (I think) — as I’ve searched/googled name and can NOT find any other Pal Ade Drink Coolers out there. See below for a brief “History” of the company.. Measures: 18.5″ Tall, 17″ long, by 13 wide. Inside is very “clean” (no rust, no holes) see pic. Pop bottle logo is cut off on one side of cooler see pic. Logo on other side is also missing areas see pic. Small dent along 1 edge see pic. Some scuffs in paint along edges of cooler. For being 50+ years old — it is still in pretty good condition. Brief History of Company. The history of the company is foggy but Pal Ade was a popular drink that people still remember well today. Pal was bottled by Diamond Ginger Ale, Inc. In 1946, Diamond employed 18 route drivers and distributed its beverages throughout the state. The company moved to Waterbury in the 1880s and operated its bottling plant in the South End of the city 1663 South Main St. The name of the business was changed to Diamond Ginger Ale Inc. In the mid-1960s, the company was billed as the oldest soft drink bottling company in New England, producing more than 20 flavors Most popular being Ginger Ale, grape, root beer and cream soda. Pretty good size and weighs a bit — so… This item is in the category “Collectibles\Advertising\Merchandise & Memorabilia\Signs\Original\1930-69″.
