Vintage PLEASURE CHEST Brand COOLER / ICECHEST that would have been manufactured in the 1950’s. Made in the USA. Measures 15″ length x 12″ width x 14 height to top of lid; weighs 13 pounds empty. The exterior is made of steel metal with a red painted surface that shows minimal scuffs & scars from past use. Pleasure Chest text on the front – stamped beneath’REG. Has the original drain cap still attached via chain. Features a 1/4 diameter steel metal carry handle that secures the lid handle to hold lid into place. On the right side a mounted bottle opener. Has a galvanized metal interior liner – clean. As well is the interior compartment 12 3/4″ x 10 1/4″ x 2 1/2 area, original Sandwich Tray, its purpose was to keep chilled food from getting wet. Is clean inside and out. Still a great cooler for picnicking, boating, fishing or other outdoor activities. Or you can put it in your man-cave. Very Good Vintage Condition! 1950s all metal ice chest / cooler. Made by Progress Refrigeration Co. White with red 7UP graphics. With original removable tray. Cleaned inside and out. Some rust around the bottom rim (see pics). Cooler has been tested and is water tight. The bottle opener on the side is also rusty, but works ok. See pics for best description – there are scrapes, bumps and scratches as would be expected on an item of 60+ years of age. This is in original condition, has not been modified over the years. RARE VINTAGE 1950’s RED ROCK COLA Drink Metal Picnic Cooler Progress Refrigerator Co. Vintage red metal Coca Cola cooler from the 1950s. Lid also functions as a tray. Also there is drain on the front along with a bottle opener on the side. Measures approximately 18″ tall from base to lid’s handle, 17-1/2″ wide, 13 deep (not including front drain spout). Condition : Cooler overall shows signs of use and age. Handle has a slight wiggle and bent but still attached strong. There are various scuffs and scratches.
