VINTAGE METAL SCHLITZ COOLER, LATE 1950S TO MID 1960S, CRONSTROMS, MINNEAPOLIS, MN. This is a vintage full size. Cooler from the late 1950s to mid-1960s. (13 1/2″ tall x 24″ wide x 13 deep). Several styles of these exist from the 1950s/60s era and this is a rarer one with a padded vinyl lid/seat. This was made by Cronstroms, Minneapolis, Minnesota. A well-known maker of coolers like this from back in the day. The outer skin on this cooler is a thin metal of some sort aluminum? This is all original other than a very small piece of weatherstrip foam on the inner lid (photo 10) – handles, snap closure for the lid, hinges, drain plug, etc. Bottle openers are built under each carrying handle. This cooler has no leaks. The graphics on both sides of the cooler have survived quite well. The Schlitz logo and slogan are still sharp and crisp.
